Meet Sally
Creating fine art photography is a passion and a path to learning and personal expression, for me in Life Part 2, after retirement as a professor of Language Education at the University of Georgia.
My work is often described as painterly, an effect I strive to achieve through my eye as an artist, my sense of composition, and my knowledge and use of the camera as a creative tool. I also believe I have a particular vision as a woman, an artist, and a photographer.
I have come to understand that the central theme of my work—and my life—is to live and to create art that “soothes one’s soul.”
I live to travel, to walk the hills, glens, beaches, and cities of the world, to play golf, meet people, and to create fine art photographs. Through my photography, I invite you to share the moments, the memories, the feelings that I have captured here.
Through these images, I reflect on my home in Athens, Georgia, USA, I treasure in my heart the lochs, seas, mountains, and golf courses of my beloved Scotland, and I seek to capture the beauty, landscapes, and intrigue of Italy, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, or China. Come with me to experience these “thin places” in the universe, places where we somehow reach beyond the here and now to a deeper, unexplainable holiness that can touch our souls.
Visit my Gallery and please contact me if you have any questions or wish to order a print. Printing will be available after December 15, 2011.
